Push4site switches to native notifications from Chrome to macOS

Push4site switches to native notifications from Chrome to macOS

Notifications sent via Push4site will be shown in the macOS right in the Notification Center instead of the Chrome system, beginning with Chrome 59.

This change will help you to display messages on this operating system better and avoid a number of errors.

The following describes the differences.

One of the benefits of this change is that notifications will be displayed in the macOS notification center. And even if the user for any reason did not see your message, he will be able to read it later.

Icon size and location

The size of the icon will be smaller and its location will change. We recommend switching to a logo with a transparent background instead of a solid one, it will look more aesthetic.

Elements of interaction

Before this update, the interaction elements were displayed below the message. After the change, the buttons will be displayed in the "Advanced" tab. When hover over it, the user will be able to see all the actions proposed.

The Chrome logo will always be displayed in the notification and can not be changed. This requirement is for third-party MacOS platform applications.

Large pictures

Large pictures will no longer be displayed on MacOS. This is due to the lack of this feature in operating system native notifications.

All the changes described above will affect only users of the macOS with the browser Chrome beginning with the version 59. All the previous browser versions will display messages in standard mode.
